Gemuce nasceu a 1963, em Quelimane e trabalha e vive em Moçambique. Tirou o Curso Básico de Cerâmica na Escola de Artes Visuais, de 1983 a 1985. Em 1985 tornou-se monitor do Círculo de Interesse Infantil de Artes Visuais e organizou um programa infantil na TV. Graduou-se em Belas Artes no Instituto de Belas Artes de Kiev (Ucrânia) em 1990. Dois anos depois, fez um mestrado em Pintura de Murais na Academia de Belas Artes da Ucrânia. Em 1993 regressou a Maputo, onde abriu, juntamente com o seu colega Bento Mukesswane, a Galeria Ugupu. Em 2001 fez um mestrado em Gestão Cultural na Universidade Sorbonne Nouvelle, em Paris, França. Participou em 11 individuais e em inúmeras colectivas em Moçambique, África do Sul, Alemanha, Brasil, Finlândia, Namíbia, Portugal, Rússia, Ucrânia, Noruega e Escócia. Participou na Bienal de Dakar ‘06, na Exposição “Réplica e Rebeldia”, na Expo Arte Contemporânea ‘04, ‘06 e ‘08, na “Arte Lisboa 04”, no Arco ‘06 Madrid e em programas de residência na Escócia e em Liverpool. É actualmente docente na Escola Nacional de Artes Visuais desde 1993 e no instituto Superior de Artes e Cultura desde 2010, onde lecciona as disciplinas de Anatomia Artística, Comunicação Visual, Desenho Analítico, Educação Visual e o curso de Artes Visuais. É membro fundador e presidente do Movimento de Arte Contemporânea de Moçambique MUVART.

Gemuce was born in 1963 in Quelimane. He lives and works in Mozambique. Earliy on in his studies he studied Ceramic in the School of Visual Arts, 1983-1985.
In 1985 he became monitor of the Children’s Visual Arts centre and organized children’s programs on TV. He Graduated in Fine Arts at the Institute of Fine Arts in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1990. Two years he completed his Masters degree in mural painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Ukraine. In 1993 he returned to Maputo where he opened, together with his colleague, Benedict Mukesswane, Galeria Ugupu..In 2001 he completed a Masters degree in Cultural Management at the University Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, France.Gemuce Participated in 11 individual and collective shows many in Mozambique, South Africa, Germany, Brazil, Finland, Namibia, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Norwegian, Scotland. Participated in the Dakar Biennale in 2006, in the Exhibition Replica and Rebellion, Contemporary Art Expo 04, 06 and 08, in “Arte Lisboa 2004, 2006 and Arco in Madrid and residency programs in Scotland and Liverpool. He organized in 2008 the Triangle arts residency in Maputo with the collaboration of the national art Museum of Maputo.He is currently teaching at the National School of Visual Arts from the 1993and Institute of Arts and Culture since 2010 and teaches the disciplines of Anatomy, Artistic, Visual Communication, Analytical Design, Visual Education and the course of Visual Arts. He is the Founding member and President of the Movement of Contemporary Art in Mozambique MUVART.
